Discipleship and Christian Education
Carthage Christian Church is committed to helping people grow spiritually. Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior is the beginning of a life-long path of discipleship. We’re here to help. We offer the following study and growth opportunities:
Sunday School - 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
We have classes for adults and children.
Adult Sunday School is continuing our discussion of Rob Bell’s Nooma DVD series. These short, thought-provoking videos challenge us to think in new and surprising ways about the Christian faith.
Our Youth Sunday School Class meets from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. We are currently discussing the re:form curriculum from Sparkhouse. This series combines short, animated DVD segments with activities in the “Unworkbook” as we learn the basics of Christian faith and how to apply it to everyday life.
We also have Sunday School classes for preschoolers and grades K-4, led by Miss Erin and Miss Sandy.
Our nursery is staffed during Sunday School time, for infants and toddlers.
Junior Church - during 10:45 a.m. worship
For ages 3 through 3rd grade. Children worship with the whole congregation for the first 15-20 minutes, then leave for structured activities and fun.
Discipleship Group - Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
For adults; a group dedicated to study and discussion of topics that address spiritual practices and different aspects of a life of discipleship. Our first half-hour (6:30 - 7) is for food and fellowship, and then we have study and discussion time from 7-8 p.m.
THIS GROUP IS CURRENTLY TAKING A BREAK, but will resume meeting on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
